Every year, Zarda makes the trip to St. Joe to feed the Kansas City Chiefs some legendary Zarda Bar-B-Que! “We’re always excited to come out to camp – this is our 29th year and it’s still just as much of a thrill as the first,” said COO Terry Hyer. “We first came to training camp in the late 80’s, the players look forward to getting some hickory smoked Bar-B-Que and It’s always great to see how excited the guys are when the Zarda vans pull up!”
Zarda feeds the Chiefs players at dinner, but a few players including Derrick Johnson, Chris Conley, Tyreek Hill, James Winchester, and Frank Zombo followed the aroma from our hickory smoked meats and couldn’t resist a taste of Zarda after practice! Some players decided to save their appetite for the real meal at dinner time including Alex Smith, Patrick Mahones, Marcus Peters, and Justin Houston!
Zarda Bar-B- Q is proud of the Chiefs training camp tradition, and this year, the pit-pros rolled out something special for Kansas City’s favorite NFL players – the brand new (not released in stores, yet!) Limited Reserve Pork Burnt Ends – Tender chunks of pit-charred, expertly prepared pork brisket! The Chiefs players loved ‘Em. In fact so much so – Zarda BBQ lovers might expect to see these bad boys on the menu in stores soon!
