Zarda Bar-B-Q was contacted by ESPN to be the featured Kansas City BBQ during the first “Tailgate Hour” at Arrowhead Stadium!

Zarda has fed the Chiefs at training camp for 29 years in a row. “We’ve been to a lot of training camps – from William Jewell, to River Falls, to St. Joe – and every year it’s always a thrill,” said Zarda COO, Terry Hyer. “Our first year was in the late 80’s – Marty was the coach. Bill Maas was around, also Derrick Thomas, Neil Smith, Dan Saleaumua.” Hyer continues, “They were good eaters, we still see a lot of the former guys regularly at our two stores. It’s a lot of fun – and the guys are always glad to see the Zarda vans pull up.” After 29 years of feeding the Chiefs at camp, Zarda was so thrilled to be invited to be featured on the Monday Night Countdown show during their first “Tailgate Hour” segment!

ESPN’s Suzy Kolber, Matt Hasselbeck, Randy Moss, Charles Woodson and Steve Young met Zarda COO, Terry Hyer out at Arrowhead Stadium to talk about Kansas City BBQ and taste some legendary Zarda that the Chiefs players love so much! A variety of items from the Limited Reserve menu items were served including Burnt Ends, Baked Beans, Hog Wild Sandwiches and Cheesy Corn. Plus, our featured item of October – Pulled Pork with Apple Harvest Sauce! The players at training camp loved this Fall combo and we knew that these guys would too! The ESPN hosts loved Zarda so much, we even caught Matt Hasselbeck and Steve Young eating a Hog Wild sandwich off camera!
